Discover Tokyo Ya

If you're looking for a laid-back and flavorful dining experience in Astoria, Tokyo Ya is the perfect spot to visit. Located at 36-06 Ditmars Blvd, Astoria, NY 11105, this unassuming diner-style restaurant offers a fresh take on traditional Japanese cuisine, with a modern twist that makes it stand out in the bustling neighborhood. Whether you’re a local or a first-time visitor, this cozy spot promises to delight your taste buds.

Walking into Tokyo Ya, the ambiance immediately catches your attention. The casual, yet contemporary decor gives off a relaxed vibe, perfect for a casual meal with friends or family. It feels like a blend of your favorite neighborhood diner and a spot where you can discover some hidden gems on the menu. You can count on friendly staff to guide you through the extensive options that reflect the fusion of Japanese cooking styles with a bit of American influence. It’s the kind of place where everyone from sushi lovers to ramen aficionados will find something they enjoy.

What really makes Tokyo Ya shine is its wide variety of dishes, ranging from sushi rolls to hearty bowls of ramen. For first-timers, the menu might seem a bit overwhelming, but don’t worry-helpful staff members are always available to offer recommendations. A standout here is the sushi. The freshness of the fish paired with the skillful preparation makes each bite memorable. One of the most popular dishes is their signature roll, a flavorful combination of spicy tuna, avocado, and a secret sauce that adds just the right amount of kick. If you’re in the mood for something different, try the udon noodle soup. The thick, chewy noodles in a savory broth are the perfect comfort food, especially on a chilly evening.

For those who love variety, Tokyo Ya's bento boxes are an excellent option. These well-balanced meals come with a little bit of everything, including rice, a selection of sushi, tempura, and even a small serving of miso soup. The best part? They’re super affordable, offering a great value for the quality of food you get.

Even though Tokyo Ya is known for its Japanese dishes, the restaurant also caters to a broader crowd with a selection of fusion items. The ramen burger, for example, takes the classic American burger and replaces the bun with ramen noodles, offering a crispy texture and a unique flavor that you won't find anywhere else in Astoria. It’s an excellent example of how Tokyo Ya takes familiar dishes and gives them a fun, unexpected twist.

One of the highlights of dining at Tokyo Ya is the consistency of its food quality. No matter when you visit, the sushi is always fresh, the ramen broths are rich and flavorful, and the staff ensures everything is prepared with care. The quality is evident in the details, from the perfect temperature of the rice in the sushi to the exact balance of flavors in each dish. It’s clear that the team behind this restaurant takes pride in their craft and is committed to offering guests the best dining experience.

If you're into Japanese food or even if you're just looking to try something new, you’ll appreciate how Tokyo Ya maintains authenticity while also introducing new concepts. It’s a place where food lovers can enjoy both traditional and inventive Japanese dishes in a setting that feels comfortable and unpretentious. Plus, with its location in Astoria, you’ll find yourself surrounded by an eclectic mix of cultures and flavors, making this diner-style spot an essential part of the neighborhood’s vibrant dining scene.

On top of the food, Tokyo Ya also offers convenient take-out options, allowing you to enjoy their delicious meals from the comfort of your home. Whether you’re hosting a gathering or simply craving a solo dinner, you can easily grab your favorite dishes and enjoy them wherever you like.

For anyone exploring Astoria, Tokyo Ya provides a taste of Japan with a modern, local flair. It’s a place where quality food, great service, and a casual atmosphere come together to create a dining experience that stands out in the heart of the neighborhood. • It was a pretty good deal. For 37.99 dollars per person it’s an all you can eat with great food, the rolls tasted great and the food looked amazing as well. The decor is also very pretty, with Japanese yokai masks on the walls and photos of Japanese style things.

  • This place was amazing for the all-you-can-eat sushi. The food was amazing and served up incredibly fast. The wait staff very very helpful and very professional. You must eat most of what you order so that you don’t abuse the system, but this place represents very good value for very good quality food.

  • Not too noisy, food was good, service was good, some dishes took little long. Don't order too much at once otherwise there won't be any table space. You can always add to your order as you go along.

  • Awesome and affordable all you can eat sushi place in Astoria!! The highlights for me were the kani salad, the fresh tasting sashimi, and the cute sushi donuts. They have all kinds of other innovative selections like sushi tacos that you can enjoy as well. Definitely coming back here!!

  • This was my first time coming to Tokyo ya. I came during lunch on a Wednesday afternoon and it was not crowded at all. I ordered using a QR code and my food came out quickly. The sushi was fresh and everything was portioned nicely. The ambience was great too. Perfect for dining alone or catching up with friends.

  • Tokyo Ya is an absolute gem for sushi lovers — the sashimi is incredibly fresh, thick-cut, and melts in your mouth. Their miso soup is rich, comforting, and full of flavor, the perfect way to start the meal. Everything is made to order, and the quality is top-tier for an all-you-can-eat spot. Can’t wait to go back for another round!

  • I stumbled upon this divine find during my Saturday afternoon stroll through Ditmars Boulevard-Astoria, Queens. When I read the “All You Can Eat” banner, I envisioned a buffet style set-up. I was blown away when I discovered you can order any item listed on the menu (yes, any item) and the food is freshly made and delicious. You have 90 minutes to try every delicious item. But believe it or not, it only takes about 30 minutes (tried and tested) If you are not a raw fish kind of person, there’s plenty of delicious cooked sushi and sashimi for you too. I highly recommend you try Tokyo Ya. Five Stars all the way⭐
